Analytics uses a read-only PostgreSQL connection. Lambda shows the connection details for the bound trunk role in Analytics > Roles.

Connection details

Open Roles

Open Analytics > Roles in your workspace.

Copy the connection details

Copy the host, port, database, username, and password for the bound trunk role.

Store the password safely

Put the password in your team’s secret store. Do not place it in report files or source code.

Require TLS

Configure your SQL or Power BI connection to use TLS and verify the server certificate.

Use the reporting schema

Start with the views in reporting. Use deeper data layers only when the consultation needs them.

Readiness

If the role or database is not ready, wait for Analytics > Roles to show a healthy state. Ask your Lambda administrator for help if it stays unavailable.
